About MT. Gerizim Christian Church

Pastor Chester Sampson became licensed as a Minister of the Gospel in June of 1997. He was ordained as an Elder in June of 2005, by the late Bishop L. Foday Farrar. He served God faithfully and productively under the leadership of Bishop Farrar at Solid Rock Ministry International in many areas of ministry including; Crown Ministries Church Coordinator as well as City Wide Director for Crown Ministries. (Crown Ministry is an International Financial Stewardship Ministry.) Director of Youth Church, Elder of Education which included overseeing Sunday School, Discipleship Life Courses, and Solid Rock Ministry Bible College.

Pastor Sampson chaired many projects including writing the charter for Koinonia, a Community Development Corporation and served as the corporations first Director (KCDC enabled the church to make property purchases and apply for grants); the Giving Together Program which was a building project for the church, many outreach projects, VAM (Vision, Activation and Mobilization), Sidewalk Sunday School, Vacation Bible School in the streets and bringing a national known Ministry to the church “The Power Team”.

Pastor Sampson also assisted one of the church Elders in regular outreach service to the homeless behind a local department store on Hwy 401 South of Garner, meeting with them before our church service began. As Elder of Protocol, Pastor Sampson assisted in coordinating the Full Gospel State Conference when it was held at Solid Rock Ministry International.

He and his wife were the Family Life Group leaders over Rhema House, one of the largest life groups in the church. Before being call to be the Pastor of Mt. Gerizim Christian Church, he assisted Elder Patricia Sampson with the birthing of a Women’s Outreach Ministry, Wise Women Waiting, which holds conferences for the spiritual nurturing, growth and development of women in North and South Carolina.

When Bishop Farrar transitioned to glory on December 4, 2015. During that shocking and unbelievable moment in time, Pastor Sampson was leaving Bishop Farrar’s home, the Lord spoke to Pastor Sampson, “You are released, you are free”. At that time, not knowing what God meant by those words, Pastor Sampson fasted for eighteen days. On January 31, 2016, God clarified those words and Mt. Gerizim Christian Church was born.

Pastor Sampson and his wife began immediately to walk by faith in finding a place of worship, and Jehovah-Jireh, God our Provider did just that. God provided us with a place, furnished it with chairs, a podium, sound system, projector, and projection screen.

On Easter Sunday March 27, 2016 Pastor Sampson his wife, daughter, three great grandchildren, and two other couples met for morning service. Mt. Gerizim Christian Church’s first official service was held on April 3, 2016 with great support from his immediate family and church family including Chief Apostle Willie Bogier of Tabernacle of Prayer Fellowship Inc.

Pastor received his Bachelor of Sciences Degree in Business Administration from Saint Augustine’s University. Pastor Sampson contributes all his successes to the Glory of God, as he lives his life scripture which is: Matthew 6:33 – But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.

But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.

Matthew 6:33
